A REVIEW OF GAFEST 2014
(Gospel Art Festival)

GAFEST 13th April 2014 held at Restoration Gospel Centre
Otukpo once again recorded a tremendous
success as both artists and audience turned
out in their colourful looks to grace this
event that is certain to go down memory
lane as far as Gospel Drama Fiesta is called into book. This dramatic event
opened with an opening prayer led by Bro.
Victor O, Adaji and a praise and worship
section that gave Sis Pracious a fertile
ground to bring down God's glory in true
worship and praise. As the event continue to unfold, the stage was set
to recieve
ministrations and the groups that were in
attendance all did well to hold everybody to
their feet with life tranforming
ministrations. The first to grace the stage
was Battle Axe Drama Outreach (The Host Group) at about 5pm. The play
portrayed a
life of a young man who stood his ground
against all odds posed by a young lady to
see him fornicate with her, he became an
excommunicant from the church and was
also issued a sack later from his place of work, after the young lady
fabricated a
rape story against him. He was later
crowned for paying his price.
The event (GAFEST 2014) took a new turn
from the usual drama ministration to bring
YWAP on stage for a Gospel Rap ministration at about 5:17pm. After YWAP,
Winners Company were at hand to change
the atmosphere with a drama titled 'Jesus
The Rock of Ages' at about 5:28pm. After
Winners Company had finished what they
know how to do best the stage was once again given a look as Joshua King was
offered a slot to grace the stage with
wonderful dance steps, he met the
audience's expections right as some of his
dance steps will serve as points of
imagination to up coming dancers. At about 5:55pm Barn of Wisdom one the most
breath taking drama groups in town came
up with a drama ministration titled 'As you
Wish' the play portrayed a man that was
dealt with while seeking his fortune at
wrong hands, not until he met the saviour he was unable to take a
positive step in his
quest to find his fortune. At about 6:06pm
YWAP again came up with a ministration
titled 'Talk about the Gospel' pointing out
why christianity is not a religion rather a
life style in Christ. After YWAP's second ministration came to an end
BAMMCO Live
Theatre a distinguished group in the Gospel
Drama Ministry in Otukpo stormed the
stage at about 6:14pm with a playlet
captioned 'I Will Be Back' the playlet
portrayed the life of a princess who failed to keep the treasure that
was laid in her
hands by her father when he was about to
embark on a journye, upon return he
discovered she broke the treasure, and she
was never given a second chance. Caleb
Drama Group was the next to bring down God's glory with a play taged
'Where do you
Belong' the play came to an end at about
7:03pm. Harmony another drama group
recognised for their lovely panthomimes
and song dramas did well to grease the
expectations of drama ministers and spectators alike as they stormed the
Restoration Gospel Centre stage with a
panthomime titled 'Breaking Every Chain'
the performance depict the sick, depressed,
and even the hopeless whose deliverance
was offered to them them at the foot of the solid rock. The last and
indeed not the least
ministration came coutesy of Onward
Drama group at about 7:17pm. The play
was captioned 'Locating the Solid Ground'
The ministration portrayed the life of a sick
boy, who was under the chains of the devil, after all effort to seek
solace at the
hospital, the native doctor and at the hands
of a prophet proved abortive. He finaly got
his healing at the feet of the master.
Wrapping up the ministrations in a grand
style at about 7:32pm. Words alone cannot exhustively do justice
to how eventful GAFEST 2014 was, it
recorded a kind of success that has indeed
splashed lasting colours on the canvas of
history. Other high points recorded were
the unvailing of the Battle Axe Movie Production titled 'The Vanity of
Compromise'
Written, Directed and Produced by Pst.
Benjamin A. Opaluwa. So many were
stunned upon discovery that the first
Successful Gospel English Movie Produced in
this land was not to be sold owing to the fact that its survial was a
complete miracle,
hence it is an offering to God. Every one in
attendance left with a copy free of charge.
Preparations ahead of the forth coming
ANCEDRAM annual confrence holding in
Makurdi from the 24 - 27 of April 2014 were also instated as leaders of various
drama groups were admonished to get
their delegates ready for this event.
The President Battle Axe Outreach, Battle
Axe members, participating groups and
audience, your effort towards the success of this dramatic event will never go
unrewarded, and God is infinit mercy will
meet u all at the points of your need. Stay
bleessed, see you at the top.
