The Unshed Tears [Poem] By MadeNice

This is one great poem that caught my breath the first time I read it. Authored by the famous MadeNice, the socialetherapy blog featured poet, he also wrote the one titled "Memories of Gold" As a contemporary poem addressing a significant topic that borders on the general social ill of deliberate termination of would-be people of worth and value of our time, I thought it wise to feature it here as it tallies with our objectives. Without much ado, let us delve into the poem. "The Unshed Tears" Please do not read without your comment, the author wants to hear your honest opinions.

The Unshed Tears

Dear Dad, why did you do this to me?
Sweet Mom, why did you eliminate me?
You thought I will be a hitch in your dreams,
But my face was meant to be on Naira bills.

I heard it’s hard out there; I was longing to see,
I had dreams of my own which I was going to fulfill,
But there were just dreams which will never get to be,
Because you played God, you never wanted me.

Your friends said I was nothing but blood,
No muscle, organs or bones, just blood,
But the blood they said had its own life,
Remember Abel’s blood cried out when he lost his life.

My unshed tears I will hold back, I promise to be strong,
My blood will plead for you so that your days will be long,
An Angel is here to take me home but before I go, I want you to know,
God is waiting to forgive and redeem your souls and I love you both.
