Memories of Gold
Sweet memories that I hold,
Of past stories untold,
They make my heart go cold,
But I cherish them like gold.
I gave you all of me,
You promised to always love me,
But you made a fool out of me,
You took away the better part
of me.
I loved you for free,
But your love always had a
bill,
For every happy moment I felt,
It cost me a bit of my wealth.
I made no mistake but the hurt
was dreadful,
I learnt a bitter lesson and it
will be helpful,
I realize I should have been
more careful,
I can say for that alone, I am
grateful.
